I am very grateful to Hannah of lazy girl’s beauty guide for nominating me for the Liebster Award for new bloggers. My little blog baby here definitely needs a boost and attention lately, with me busy with a new job and all that.
I believe blogging is all about connecting. In days when I connect through my blog with people with similar interests, when I am getting a discussion out of these monologues and replying like crazy on tweets I don’t even remember about checking my stats (that’s probably because I am not monetizing this yet; once I start I guess I will be all about the stats). My point is – I am looking for a conversation and I am happy opportunities like this exist. And this IS…
The Liebster Award
In the words of Hannah, because I can’t put it better (nor do I have further understanding of it):“The Liebster award is basically like a chain letter shared between new bloggers with less than 200 followers to help them progress and basically to just share the love. ‘Liebster’ is German for dearest, which is just adorable.”
After being nominated, you have to:
- Post the Liebster award to your blog
- Answer the questions you were given by the person who nominated you (Hannah, I am answering some of the once you had to answer, because I didn’t see any new ones. If I am mistaken here, please drop me a line in the comments or on Twitter : ) )
- Nominate up to ten bloggers with less than 200 followers
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and link to their blog
Q&A
Why did you start this blog?
Reading and writing have always been a huge part of my life. I have grown up to be the person I am today while doing much of both. For better or for worse I don’t discuss them with my friends (not if they can help it), so I needed an outlet to nerd out.
Goals for my blog
I’d love to have the time to review ALL the books I read (and get a discussion about them), but I know better than to set impossible expectations. For the time being I will be happy to post fairly often, to maintain a variety of post types and to review the books that unsettled me/excited me the most. Most of all I’d like to have people talk about their reading experiences as well.
What is your ideal morning routine?
Waking up early, making a coffee and reading in bed until 10 am, then a walk and some writing.
How do you incorporate blogging into your schedule?
I don’t. I steal away time here and there, stay up too late or miss lunches. Bad blogger, very very bad blogger. This is actually on top of my to-do blogging list. Make time.
What’s the easiest and hardest part about blogging for you?
Making time is the hardest. The actual writing is the easiest.
What is your favourite leisure activity?
Reading (doh!). I also like to dance (alone and in front of a mirror).
What motivates you to continue blogging?
The fact that what I blog about is an aspect of myself I don’t show much anywhere else. Also, I am a compulsive non-quitter.
Relationship status? Any kids (2 or 4 legged)?
In a happy relationship with a sexy Leo, planning to get a semblance of a doggie some day soon.
Do you have any tattoos?
No, but if I did I am afraid it would be a subtle reference to Star Wars or Tolkien.
I nominate
- Marion from From Zero to Web. Her blog is a step by step guide to building a brand and growing your business online.
- M. from agirlwithnoworld. This is a fellow aspiring writer’s personal blog – a bit of a dark feeling going on, a lot of great (regular!) posts and some poetry
I am currently collecting nominees, so if you are a new blogger, please let me know in the comments and I will consider you. I have up to 9 spots to fill as of now 🙂
In any case, please use the comment section to start a discussion about blogging or books or ask me questions – as I said, I am loving connecting with you, guys! So go ahead and make my day!

Thank you! I see you have 8000+ followers, so you are not here for the nomination – understandable, since your blog is already amazing! I am loving it!
Thanks again! for the nomination! Just adding it to the blog now!
No probs, Marion! Good luck with your blog, hope to see you around – here and on Twitter 🙂
It’s not a bad thing to be a compulsive non-quitter, most people have the opposite problem. Congrats on your award!
Thank you, Rica! I agree – it’s not such a bad thing, but a demanding habit.
Congratulations for your Liebster Award! I agree, finding time is the hardest when it comes to blogging! Or I am blogging and loose track of time and we don’t have anything for dinner!
Haha yes, this happens, too! Good to know I am not the only one struggling 😉
Congratulations! I really like your writing, it’s something I’d like mine to be like but I suppose everyone writes different! Being a compulsive non-quitter is definitely a good thing as I struggle to deal with insecurities (about writing and blogging) from time to time and hope to never resolve to quitting. ❤️
